A few weeks ago, I posted about my "31 Days of Random Acts of Kindness" in honor of my birthday and I've been trying to complete one each day since then (I will post a full update next week). Today my kindness act is to share a feel-good playlist.
Feel-good playlists are my favorite! I love songs that make me want to smile; sing with the windows down in the car or on karaoke; dance around the house or at the bar; and just plain make me feel fabulous. So here are a few of my favorite.
1. Anything by ABBA!
Of course, this no needs no explaining! I love anyting by ABBA especially on karaoke.
(Abba is of course the number one karaoke number of the summer sisters when doing karaoke at the Jamestown.)
2. WHAM - Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go
I love dancing to this on Just Dance.
3. TOM JONES - It's Not Unusual
Who doesn't think of Carlton every time this song comes on the radio? Even I have been known to perfect my Carlton dance, which is just as terrible as the real Carlton.
4. LOUIS ARMSTRONG - What A Wonderful World
My dad and I danced to this at the wedding.
5. KATRINA AND THE WAVES - Walking on Sunshine
6. EDWARD SHARPE - Home
This was mine and Dennis' first dance at the wedding.
7. BEATLES - Ob La Di and Penny Lane
There was a time when I could play these on the piano. I want to name my future cat Penny Lane. Ha ha!
8. STEVIE WONDER - You Are the Sunshine of My Life
This song reminds me of my grandma and just makes me so happy!
9. JOHN LENNON - Imagine
(From my last trip to Strawberry Fields in Central Park.)
10. GARY PORTOY - The Cheers Theme Song
Reminds me of Lakeside...
11. NEIL DIAMOND - Sweet Caroline
Again, needs no explanation!
(Annie and I always do Sweet Caroline together.)
12. KID ROCK - All Summer Long
(We attempted All Summer Long on karaoke...or it was more like we took over for this band.)
13. SIMON AND GARFUNKEL - Cecilia
14. DEXYS MIDNIGHT RUNNERS - Come On Eileen
15. JOURNEY - Don't Stop Believin'
(Another karaoke classic that sometimes we invite strangers to sing along with us on.)
What are your feel-good songs?!
