Tuesday Link Love

Again, I've been slacking on the link love. I was so excited about this post idea and than I didn't follow through with regular Tuesday link love. Well, I'm back and I'm trying.

Can we believe its fall already? Last Wednesday it was 90 degrees and of course I was loving every minute of it. This week its chilly and I have a sweater on and I'm not loving every minute of it.

Welcome fall then! Chilly nights, cozy sweaters and lots of hot chocolate! Don't you just love the quote above though. Who doesn't love Anne?

Some link love for you my friends...

Books

I know I've definitely over promoted these books but I highly recommend the Summer I Turned Pretty Series. You can read the review for the first one here. I'm reading the new series now, which is called Burn for Burn. I'm all excited because the author, Jenny Han, is coming to the Carnegie to talk and I'm going to see her at the beginning of October. So excited! Here is the information about the author visit if anyone is interested.

Fun Stuff

My cousins had posted this story on Facebook about Princess Kate and Prince William. Its about a very special gift that the two accepted from a woman with Downs syndrome. Read it. It's incredbly touching and refreshing to see these royals break down barriers for those with Downs syndrome in Great Britain. It will bring a smile to your face.

Cooking
Write this down. As hard as some of you may find this to believe, I have been cooking. Pinterest makes it so much easier plus I no longer have a kitchen that is lacking in most cooking and baking supplies. I'm also trying harder to use the crock pot more. This is a delicious recipe for an apple cake and this is a really good chicken crock pot dinner. Both were really easy and the apple cake was so good, I want some right now!!

My link love is short this week. More next week. I'm too busy to think of other items. Have a great Tuesday! Almost halfway to the weekend!

Tuesday Link Love

The sun is shining and it looks absolutely gorgeous outside.  Too bad the view from my window is deceiving and its cold with flurries.  I just want spring.  Correction.  I just want summer.

Right Now

Another reason I want it to warm up is so that we can sit on our deck!  I pinned this wine glass holder last week and though it would be perfect for parties on the deck.  And the reason its probably not available is Pinterest and everyone that pinned, liked or search it.

Book/Library Love

Has anyone read Commencement or Maine by J. Courtney Sullivan?  She is one of my favorite authors and I'm so excited that she has a new book coming out in June called The Engagements.  I bought Maine when it came out because I was so excited.  I might have to buy this new one too and I never buy fiction brand new!

Running Thoughts

Ahh the half-marathon...I feel like I'm definitely lacking motivation again and not feeling quite so confident in my running abilities.  Not sure really what to do since my motivation board isn't really helping.  This is a pretty awesome list though that I found and I might take some of the author's suggestions.  We will see how I feel next week at this time after running eight miles.

Wedding Inspiration

Just a thought I had... Not really having to deal with the wedding but stemming from it.  Last week I couldn't decide it I wanted to type or write the addresses for the save-the-dates.  I asked opinions.  I read information online.  When it came down to it, I decided to handwrite them.  I don't mind.  I like receiving handwritten mail.  It's more personal.  This is an interesting article about that same idea and a similar blog post I wrote two years ago.

And that's my two cents for the week.

Carrie's Link Love

Life has been so busy lately that again I find myself slacking on my blog.  To keep myself accountable and on a better blogging schedule, I've started to add themes for each day to follow if I don't have a post idea.  On Tuesdays, I'm going to share some Link Love for what I like lately, what I've been reading and what is going on in my life.

Love this Pinterest find...so I had to post...I need to remember this in my hectic life.

Right now...

I'm obsessed with watching old TV shows.  The last few weeks I've been watching the first season of...wait for it...Family Matters and this week I'm onto Boy Meets World.

I'm still working on some Pinterest projects for the apartment.  This is what I want to try next with some of Beth's postcards from the sixties.

Not sure if I'm crazy or not but I would love to try making these crock pot meals ahead of time. Just have to find the time to do it.
Books
I've read a classic, new teen books and Children's Choice nominee in the last few weeks, as well as listened to a memoir since I'm on a good reading kick.  When I was doing my book order for the teens yesterday, I realize there are a lot of great summer books coming out, which I'm really excited about, including these titles, Five Summers, Nantucket Blue and September Girls.

Everyone needs to read Wonder!  The children's librarian, Amanda, recommended it and I'm promoting it again.  My mom and sister read it and enjoyed it as well.  Read the post about it here.

I found this link from one of the blogs I follow, I'm shocked Amanda and I aren't on here.  Ha ha!  We are pretty cool librarians after all!
Running
Does anyone use this kinesio tape?  I kind of want to try it but my problem lately has been sore ankles not knee or shin splints.
Wedding
Since we booked a DJ, Dennis and I have been thinking more about songs to play at the wedding.  We have a few choices for our first dance but I'm still contemplating songs for the father/daughter dance with Marcus.  This is interesting list that I read today on one of the blogs I follow, "A Practical Wedding." Any suggestions?  I really like You'll Be In My Heart from Tarzan but its played a lot.
